The main reason for buying Healthy Choices cast iron dutch oven is its design and dimensions.
29cm diameter was the maximum my small microwave oven could hold. PLEASE DO NOT use cast iron in microwave setting. I use it only in the convection mode.
The lid design is such that it won't hit the top of my small oven.
The lid can hold charcoal or /a little water on its top if somebody knows that type of cooking.
This cook ware can be used in oven, induction, stove top .
While using on induction, keep on high first and then bring to low. Mainly good for moist cooking on induction.
After initial heating/ boiling, the keep warm setting is all you need for cooking, if you can spare extra time. Otherwise use high setting.
Wash with hot water after use. Although it is not recommended, might have to use dish soap sometimes. Wash and dry and apply oil before storing.
Do not leave water droplets on the cookware after washing. Always wipe off water and dry properly before oiling, for storage, if you want to maintain the look.
Overall a charming product. Well thought out design. And it's quite heavy. Love the handles. A thoughtfully added third handle and the handle on the lid also.
Note: once cooking is done, wash off, dry and apply oil. Otherwise it will rust, just like any cast-iron ware. Not suitable for storing cooked curry etc.
love the sturdiness. And the colours.
The handles get hot, of course and so I purchased silicone pan holders which enhance the experience of using this pan.
I’ve used it for cooking eggs, sausages, Maggie noodles etc.
The best part is, very little oil is required to cook the food and the pan gets cleaned very easily.
